PROCESS HIGHLIGHTS

Challenge Overview

The goal

The primary objective was to design a user-friendly interface for a berry sorting machine. This involved understanding the technical operations of the machine to ensure the interface was both functional and enhanced the user experience, aligning with the company’s innovative approach.

RESEARCH

User Research

Extensive research was conducted, including competitor analysis and understanding industry standards to pinpoint improvement opportunities. Significant time was devoted to observing and understanding operator interactions and needs, which were pivotal in guiding the design process.

IDEATION

Sketching out initial ideas on paper allowed me to explore multiple layout possibilities for the interface of the optical sorting machine. This step ensured that the final digital wireframes would focus on improving user interaction and streamlining operational efficiency based on user needs.

IDEATION

Transforming the initial paper sketches into digital wireframes allowed me to refine the layout and functionality of the optical sorting machine’s interface. This step focused on creating a user-friendly design that prioritized intuitive navigation and operational efficiency, ensuring it met both user needs and project goals.

IDEATION

Usability testing was crucial in validating design choices and identifying enhancement areas. Observing operators using the interface provided critical insights that influenced subsequent refinements. This continuous feedback loop was vital to meet user expectations and integrate the interface seamlessly into their workflow.
